Removable decorative top blends with modern decor.
Elevated legs add a refined, Nordic aesthetic.
Design and Build Quality
The look leans modern and Nordic. A refined wood-grain lid tops a compact 8 by 8 by 14.5 inch body, and detachable elevated legs lift it off the floor. The maker notes it is often mistaken for a chic storage box rather than a bin.
Material is premium-grade ABS plastic. It resists rust and dents the way metal can suffer, and it wipes clean easily. A removable lid plus a hidden press ring keep the liner secure and invisible for a tidy finish.
At the heart is a motion sensor. A hand wave opens the lid, and it closes automatically after five seconds. Power comes from 2 AA batteries, which are not included, so plan to add them at setup.
Performance in Everyday Use
The touchless action is the main draw. Opening on a wave means no lid to touch, which helps hygiene in a bathroom and keeps hands free when they are full. Auto-close after five seconds keeps the bin tidy without a press.
ABS construction is a practical choice. It shrugs off rust and dents and wipes down fast, and the hidden press ring keeps bag edges out of sight for a clean look across a bedroom, office, or kitchen side spot.
Trade-offs are honest. The sensor needs 2 AA batteries you supply, and capacity is a modest 2.38 gallons. That suits light to moderate waste, not a busy kitchen bin. Battery life is not stated in the listing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the TODAYGO sensor bin open
It uses motion sensor technology, so a simple hand wave opens the lid. After five seconds of inactivity, it closes automatically. That gives a fully touchless experience, which is handy for hygiene in a bathroom or when your hands are full during cleaning or cooking.
Does it come with batteries
No, the motion sensor operates on 2 AA batteries that are not included. You will need to add them at setup and install them correctly for the sensor to work. Battery life is not stated in the listing, so keep spares on hand for uninterrupted touchless use.
How big is the bin
The maker lists a compact footprint of 8 inches long by 8 inches wide by 14.5 inches high, with a 2.38 gallon capacity. That suits a bathroom, bedroom, office, or kitchen side spot. The modest size fits tight areas but favors light to moderate waste over heavy kitchen loads.
What is it made of
The body is premium-grade ABS plastic. The maker states it will not rust or dent like metal can, and it wipes clean effortlessly. The lid uses a decorative wood-grain finish, and detachable elevated legs add a modern look, so it blends with furniture in many rooms.
Where should I use this trash can
TODAYGO suggests bathrooms, bedrooms, offices, or as a kitchen side bin. The touchless sensor and odor-controlling lid suit spaces where hygiene and a clean look matter. Its Nordic, boho, or minimalist styling means it often reads as a chic storage box rather than a trash can.
