Product Overview
The DiCAPac WP-S5 is a soft waterproof housing rated 100 percent waterproof to 5 meters. It suits DSLR owners who want shallow-water shooting without a rigid housing. A UV polycarbonate coated optical lens, 85mm in diameter, helps capture clear underwater images. The case fits zoom lenses up to 9.5cm long.
Bag-style rather than hard, the case stays flexible and packable. It targets photographers who take a DSLR into shallow water, rain, or spray without a rigid underwater housing. Its soft build and limited lens length, though, call for careful handling.

Key Features
100% waterproof protection, guaranteed for water depths up to 5 meters
UV polycarbonate coated optical lens (diameter 85mm/3.3") allows you to take clear picture
Fits zoom lenses up to 9.5cm (3.7") in length
Design and Build Quality
A soft, flexible case forms the WP-S5, likely from waterproof materials, though the exact material is not stated. It seals with an undetailed closure, yet the maker guarantees waterproofness to 5 meters. A large optical lens, 85mm (3.3 inches) across, carries a UV coating to cut glare and improve clarity.
Zoom lenses up to 9.5cm (3.7 inches) long fit inside, so longer telephoto lenses will not. The soft design lets you operate the camera through the case. Without hard buttons, you press through flexible material, which feels less precise. Lightweight and easy to carry, its long-term durability stays uncertain.
Performance in Everyday Use
On waterproofing, the case guarantees protection to 5 meters, fine for snorkeling, pool use, or heavy rain. The UV-coated lens helps hold image clarity, though optical quality may trail a dedicated underwater lens. An 85mm lens diameter runs generous, allowing wide-angle shots.
Operating through the case works, but soft material makes buttons and dials tricky to hit accurately. Zoom lenses up to 9.5cm fit, so you can zoom, yet only through the flexible layer, which takes patience. Autofocus and image stabilization may weaken behind the extra layer. Casual underwater photography fits; professional work does not.
Who Should Buy It
- Professional underwater photography or use with long telephoto lenses.
- Soft material makes camera controls hard to operate Limited to lenses 9.5cm or shorter No hard buttons for precise control May not be as durable as rigid housings
