| Best for | Long indoor or outdoor network runs needing bulk Cat8 cable rather than a single pre-terminated patch cable |
Product Overview
This listing sells under the brand name cat gruciso, an unusual seller name for networking cable, with no other listing text suggesting a different manufacturer behind the product. It ships as a bulk 800 foot spool in an easy-pull box rather than as a single terminated patch cable, aimed at buyers running long cable paths through walls, attics or outdoor conduit.
Construction uses 26AWG conductors with double-layer shielding, which the listing states is thicker and more stable in data transmission than more common 32AWG cables. The cable is rated Cat8, supporting up to 2000MHz bandwidth and 40Gbps transmission speeds.
Score Breakdown
This verdict is based on the manufacturer's stated specifications, the current Amazon listing and its product images, the confirmed materials and design, real buyer ratings, and our research into the product category. Scores are consistent editorial judgments, not laboratory measurements, and we did not receive a paid sample.
Key Features
Rated for up to 40Gbps data transmission speed.
Thicker conductor and double-layer shielding reduce interference.
Rated for both outdoor and indoor cable runs.
800 foot spool designed for feeding through conduit or walls.
Works with routers, consoles, NAS, smart TVs and older Cat5 to Cat7 gear.
Design and Build Quality
The cable uses a 4 shielded foiled twisted pair (F/FTP) construction with a UV-resistant PVC jacket, which the listing states is rated for both outdoor and indoor use and can withstand direct sunlight along with extreme cold, heat and humidity. The listing lists ROHS, CE and REACH certification, stating the product has been tested and does not contain hazardous substances.
Color is black, and the cable ships in an easy-pull box designed for feeding long runs through conduit or wall cavities without the spool itself needing to be unwound by hand.
Performance in Everyday Use
Bandwidth is rated up to 2000MHz with data transmission speeds up to 40Gbps, positioned by the listing as suitable for streaming HD video, gaming and high-performance home or office networking. The double-shielded construction is intended to reduce EMI/RFI interference, which matters most over longer cable runs like the 800 foot length this cable ships in.
Compatibility is listed broadly: routers, modems, game consoles, NAS devices, smart TVs and switches with RJ45 connectors, along with backward compatibility to Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6e and Cat7 equipment.
How It Performs: The Evidence
| Decision factor | What we found | Evidence and measurement | Score | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bandwidth rating | 2000MHz | Listing states the cable supports bandwidth up to 2000MHz | 8.0 | A named bandwidth figure confirms the cable's rated network performance ceiling |
| Transmission speed | 40Gbps | Listing states the cable boosts data transmission speed up to 40Gbps | 8.0 | A named speed figure confirms the cable's top rated data throughput |
| Wire gauge | 26AWG | Listing states the cable adopts 26AWG high-performance composite conductor | 7.7 | A named gauge figure confirms the conductor thickness compared to thinner 32AWG cables |
| Cable length | 800 feet | Listing title and size field state 800 feet | 7.6 | A matching length figure confirms the bulk spool size being purchased |
| Weatherproofing | UV-resistant PVC jacket | Listing states the outdoor rated Cat8 cable is anti-aging and can withstand direct sunlight and extreme weather | 7.8 | A named jacket material supports the stated outdoor durability claim |
| Certification | ROHS, CE, REACH | Listing states the cable has passed testing with ROHS, CE and REACH certificates | 7.9 | Named certifications support the stated chemical and safety compliance claim |
| Device compatibility | Compatible with Cat5 through Cat7 equipment | Listing states the cable is also compatible with Cat7/Cat5/Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6e | 7.5 | Named backward compatibility confirms the cable works with older network hardware |
Who Should Buy It
- Long indoor or outdoor network cable runs
- Installers terminating their own RJ45 connectors
- Home or office networks wanting 40Gbps-rated bandwidth
- Buyers needing backward compatibility with older Ethernet standards
- Buyers wanting a single, ready-to-plug-in patch cable rather than a bulk spool for in-wall or outdoor runs
- Sold as a bulk 800 foot spool, so connectors and crimping tools are a separate requirement for most installs
- Brand name on the listing is unusual for networking cable, with no other text to confirm a more established manufacturer behind it
- Listing does not state the cable's total shipped weight
- Only a black jacket color is covered by this specific listing
