Product Overview
The S1400 is Brondell's electric bidet seat built to replace an existing elongated toilet seat rather than attach alongside it. The listing frames it around customizable, one-touch wash settings that can be programmed separately for 2 individual users, so two people sharing a bathroom do not have to reset preferences each time.
The wash itself is built on air-mixing technology and variable pressure settings, which Brondell contrasts against bidet attachments that rely on excessive pressure, pairing that with adjustable temperature, nozzle position and spray pattern controls. Hygiene features layer on top: dual stainless steel nozzles with Clean Plus technology and a self-clean cycle that runs both before and after each use.
Comfort extras include a programmable remote, an LED nightlight, a quiet gentle-close lid, a carbon block deodorizer, a 3 temperature heated seat and a 4 level warm air dryer. Installation is covered with a 42 inch power cord, a chrome bidet hose and an all-metal ⅞ inch T-valve, with Brondell stating install on an elongated toilet in under an hour.
Score Breakdown
This verdict is based on the manufacturer's stated specifications, the current Amazon listing and its product images, the confirmed materials and design, real buyer ratings, and our research into the product category. Scores are consistent editorial judgments, not laboratory measurements, and we did not receive a paid sample.
Key Features
Dual stainless steel nozzles use Clean Plus technology with a self-clean cycle that runs both before and after each use.
Variable pressure settings combined with air-mixing technology aim for a gentler, more thorough wash with adjustable temperature, nozzle position and spray pattern.
One-touch wash settings can be programmed for 2 individual users via the included programmable remote.
A 3 temperature heated seat is paired with a 4 level warm air dryer, plus an LED nightlight, gentle-close lid and carbon block deodorizer.
Heats water on demand for what Brondell describes as endless warm water rather than a limited heated tank.
A 42 inch power cord, chrome bidet hose and an all-metal ⅞ inch T-valve are included to install on an elongated toilet in under an hour.
Design and Build Quality
Brondell measures the seat itself at 15.2 inches wide by 20.43 inches long by 5.75 inches tall in the feature text, finished in white for the elongated fit. A separate recorded height figure of 0.99 inches appears in the product's dimension data, which is clearly a packaging or shipping measurement rather than the actual seat height; the 5.75 inch figure from the feature description is the one that reflects the physical seat.
The nozzle system is dual stainless steel, which is a more durable material choice than plastic nozzles on lower grade attachments, and it runs Brondell's Clean Plus self-cleaning cycle both before and after each use rather than relying on a manual rinse. Water is heated on demand through an instant ceramic water heater, which Brondell markets as endless warm water rather than a finite heated tank that can run cold during extended or repeated use.
Comfort hardware includes a 3 temperature heated seat and a 4 level warm air dryer, both adjustable rather than fixed, plus an LED nightlight and a carbon block deodorizer built into the unit. The lid closes with a quiet, gentle-close mechanism rather than dropping under its own weight.
Performance in Everyday Use
The core wash function relies on air-mixing technology paired with variable pressure settings, which Brondell positions as a gentler, more spa-like wash compared with bidet attachments that depend on high pressure alone. Adjustable temperature, nozzle position and spray pattern give a meaningful amount of personalization, and because settings can be programmed for 2 individual users through the remote, each person in a household can keep their own preferences without reconfiguring the seat.
Hygiene is handled by the dual stainless steel nozzles running a self-clean cycle automatically before and after use, backed by a carbon block deodorizer for odor control. The instant ceramic water heater is the detail that matters most for consistent performance over repeated daily use, since it heats water on demand rather than depleting a stored tank.
Comfort features, the 3 temperature heated seat and 4 level warm air dryer, round out the experience after the wash cycle finishes, reducing reliance on toilet paper the way Brondell frames its broader sustainability pitch. Installation is designed to be straightforward: a 42 inch power cord needs to reach a nearby outlet, and the included chrome hose and all-metal ⅞ inch T-valve are meant to get an elongated toilet running in under an hour.

Alternatives Worth a Look
This is a full electric bidet seat rather than a simple attachment, built around dual self-cleaning stainless steel nozzles, an instant ceramic water heater for continuous warm water, and wash settings that can be programmed separately for two people. The 3 temperature heated seat, 4 level warm air dryer, LED nightlight and gentle-close lid round out a feature set aimed at replacing the toilet seat entirely rather than bolting a bidet onto the existing one, and Brondell backs it with a 3 year limited warranty. The tradeoffs are straightforward: it needs a nearby outlet, it is built for elongated toilets specifically, and at 14.3 pounds it is a heavier, more involved install than a basic non-electric attachment.
